    Advice About purchasing 2007 WRX

hello everyone, i am new here. i tried searching, but i couldnt find exactly what i was looking for. i have never owned a subaru before. i am coming from an 07 sentra 2.0 lol.

i am in the market for an 07 WRX and need a bit of advice.

what should i look out for?
any extra maintenance costs over a regular car (since it has a turbo)?
any recalls or known issues with this specific model/year?

i am specifically looking at an 07 WRX TR as of now.

i apologize if this question has been repeated before, and thank you all for any help.

i just made a deal with a private seller on a silver 07 WRX TR with 56k miles for 13k.

    is that a good deal?

    K&N intake
    HKS Hi power exhaust
    HKS downpipe
    Helix up pipe
    Turbosmart BOV
    Sti tmic
    Aem digital boost gauge
    Kartboy short throw
    Kartboy shifter
    Cobb lowering springs&struts
    35% tint all around
    Bronze painted stock wheels
    Limited front lip
    Wingless w/plugs
    05 tails

what do you guys think? still a good deal or no? the guy was a tech at a toyota dealership for 3 years.

i wouldnt buy one that has been modded. especially with a BOV, & a downpipe, tune, etc with no mention of a tune.

find one that is stock or "lightly" modded.

If there is no proof that it has been tuned, don't buy the car.

Thank you for your input, but I'm not to familiar with subarus. This is my first purchase. How come I should steer clear Of a modded car or car that has not been tuned?

Be sure the AP is included with the car.

as a generalization, someone who mods their car usually drives it like a maniac & beats the crap out of it. again, this is a generalization and there are a percentage of us who dont, but its better to be safe than sorry. also, you dont know who did the modifications and if they were done properly.

as far as tuning-with 04+ you absolutely must have a tune with certain modifications. if not, your engine & car could be at risk for damage.

an AP is an accessport [aka: cobb accessport] its a handheld tuning device that you can use generic maps, or get custom tuned with. the device is 'married' to your ECU so it's a must that the device goes with the car if you buy it.

thank you very much for your help. i sent the owner a PM, but i dont know if he will be willing to sell it for 13k or 13.5k since thats the most i have in cash. the car does look excellent though. worcester isnt much of a drive from here (NJ) so thats a good location.

thank you ALL for your help. i really do appreciate it. subaru owners are really great owners.
