It's been done a couple of times over the years...this one was the most recent, though it also blended in stuff about who paid for your WRX..
How old are you and How did you afford the WRX?
Here's a golden oldie...wow, I was 37 at the time:
Poll: If you have WRX How old are you?

Well, 10 years old, wonder if the demographics changed? But maybe not ... Seems like that 10 yr old is reflecting what we see around here
You can't have everything - where would you put it?
Honestly, the demographics have probably shifted to younger, since now an early WRX is affordable to teens with a part-time job.
I have no proof of that, though, just anecdotal.

Probably true, with also an increase in the older segent - since I'm here, too.

There have been others in your age range...Steve (smorris) turns 60 this year, and I think he's owned a bugeye for over 10 years. But you may be on to something; the newer cars are more refined than the older, and could be more appealing to folks that are greying about the temples. (I'm allowed to say that, since I'm on the downhill slide to 50, myself.)
