I'm at 21.9 right now going back and forth to work and a lot of local shopping over the past two days plus one 50 mile trip on a highway in 5th (start of tank there; had 26 when I got home). Turbo on local plus 85+ on freeway gets more like 20, maybe 22 if mostly freeway. I don't get above 23 unless I keep it under 75. 60-65 in 5th will do 28.2 in the long run. This is all stock. I'd be curious to see how it changes with a Stage 1 tune.

That's impressive considering I drove through a good chunk of Ontario on the way to Parry Sound going closer to 60 mph in 5th and only ever saw 28.2 mpg. Maybe you have a better tune than average? I'll be curious to see the difference after Stage 1 here.

I only got 21.3 mpg on my last tank, but then I was going 80-90mph for 20 miles per day (out of 25 total on average) over much of that tank. If I behave and go 65-70 on the freeway and shift into 4th on the 35mph roads going around 40mph, I can get closer to 24mpg. I think the warm-up period has a big effect, though. If I fill up after having driven for some time and behave on a 55-65 mph road, I'll get 26-27+ easy even with a few turbo accelerations. Only commuting 12.5 miles to work seems to affect the mileage badly (either that or all the slow-downs for turns and red lights).

About 2200 miles so far and I'm averaging 25.2 mpg. I live in the country and drive on roads that are 55 mph or 65 mph about 90% of the time. This is combined normal driving and spirited driving.
Like others said, get the the turbo and watch the mpg's drop. But stay off the boost and it drives like a 2.5L. I got 30 mpg the other day driving to work, about 20 miles all highway and 2 miles city.

    Averaging 25mpg? Getting 30mpg?

I'm starting to get the feeling you guys drive your WRX like an old Volvo...or worse yet, a Prius!

21mpg going 90+ and proud of it.

(Hell the police cruiser gave me a thumbs up when I blew by him! )

Averaging 25mpg overall. Like I said 90% of my driving is on roads that are 55-65mph speed limit. Set the cruise at 70 and you get good mpg. Add in some fast and furious driving and I get 25mpg average.

The 30 mpg was one trip to work one time. Cops were out in force that day, kept it at 65mph the whole way and 30mph for the 2 miles in the city.

Plus my car is still new, the first 1000 miles I did drive like it was a prius cause that's what your supposed to do. Keep it under 3-4k and mpg is pretty good. I'm sure the mpg I'm getting will continue to drop as I put more miles on it.

I only drive 100-120+ mph on the back roads near my house. On the highway to work and in the city I chill. I've been pulled over 5 times in the last year, I didn't get a ticket, not once, but I try not to give the cops any reason to harass me anymore than they already do. NY cops love to harass you for no reason at all. Corruption is rampant here.

I just came back from a 300 road trip in my 2011 WRX Sedan. Driving to my destination I averaged 22mpg (at the time I had 500 miles on the car), I ran into a little traffic but then it opened up and was doing a constant 80mph.

On the way back, the roads were clear and I had a little more fun doing 85-90 for about 75 miles, then slowed down to about 75mph... averaged 22.8mpg.

    Overall, If I stayed at 65-70mph I'm sure I would've seen closer to 25+mpg.

Well with my STI, I did 320.9 miles before fill up, put 13.2 gallons in, so thats about 24.3mpg, not too bad I suppose, however that being said that was with the SI-drive in Intelligent mode.

I hadn't reset my trip meter in like 100mi or so and it was reading like 23-24mpg, I got my intake on and my buddy wanted to hear it, so after about 2-3 WOT pulls going through 1st, 2nd, and some of 3rd it went down to 17mpg. LOL.

I was getting 17.1-17.6 for about month atleast. I drive it a little harder than I should...what can I say, I love going from 25-90 on the on ramps, then cool down a bit, get off the freeway, do my thing, then get back on to head home.

Once I got the speeds out of my system it went to 23ish, still give a bit on the on ramps just not as much.
