Sedan Vs. Hatchback.

I would want to know you guys/gals like/own? And why. I want to know whats different bettween the sedan and the hatch.

Yes, i know the hatch is a 5-door and the sedan is 4. I understand that. I want to know if theres anything really different bettween the 2.
-Does the Sedan feels better than the hatch? or the other way around? Does the hatch got more elbow/knees space than the sedan? or does the sedan got more?

For Sedan owners, do you wish you would have gotten the Hatch? if so or no, why?

For Hatchback owners, do you wish you would have gotten the Sedan? if so or no, why?

P.S - I did a quick search and didnt see any thread about Sedan vs hatch. If there was a thread I might have missed it.

I don't own either, but just based on the styling of the two, I like the hatch better. I've only owned two cars, and both have been hatches. There is just soo much room that the practicality is always there. I never really liked the way the rear of the 08+ models looked but that's just me.

Don't have either yet, but we're looking at the hatch for a few reasons:
1) More cargo room (i.e., can fit a full size bike in there)
2) Can put a dog in the trunk
3) Like the looks

I like the hatch over the sedan. Of course thats only in the newer ones....I like my sedan over the wagons though....but thats because I was coming from a ford focus hatch and I wanted a sedan...thats the only reason! My friend has an 04 wagon and its very nice as well!

My future subie will be a wagon for sure. Because the wife told me it better be 4 doors and hold the wife, a kid and two great danes. I am not ready for a van or an SUV just yet.

If we're talking about the newer 08-10, I'd go hatch. Any years before sedan FTW!
It also depends on your lifestyle a lot. Got family and kids? Like to mountain bike or put other large capacity items in your trunk? Need to ship large amounts of heroin? If yes a hatch or wagons probably the best bet.

Got family and kids?
+1
If you have a family definately a hatch would be best.

x2

Only thing I could change about the sedan are the taillights, blacking them out helps a little but they could be a touch different for sure...

Sedan for sure. Its more of a classic wrx, to me, the hatch kinda goes away from it. the only hatch i really like is the speed3.

I think the sedan makes a great secondary vehicle, but the hatch is downright more capable. Why do you think most cars in Europe are hatchbacks? This day in age the capability of your vehicle corresponds with your own capability. Like food, you are what you drive.

For someone in their early 20's it helps prepare you for many things that you will most likely face in the next decade. In my opinion, the most important decade of your life.

Hatchback advantages:
Use as a work vehicle.
Having sex. (comfortably)
Having children. (oops)
Moving.
Robbing banks.

Hell you could even live in the hatchback if need be.

It's been a while since I was in Europe, but I don't remember most cars being hatches.

Top 10 cars of Europe 2008

Yeah they're all about the hot hatches. I'd love a Yellow Audi S3 myself. I think what Subaru is doing is trying to force feed Americans the hatchback. We are quite the stubborn breed.
