Talking Man in MOnkey Mask Evading Photo-Enforced Ticketing in Subie! With PIC!

Hey guys -

I apologize if this was already posted, but I found this hilarious story of this guy wearing a monkey mask to avoid the photo-enforced ticketing system in The Valley of the Sun on digg.com. Looks like a 2.5RS wagon ..? Or maybe a WRX with the hood scoop delete?

Here's the article:
Valley Monkey Has 37 Unpaid Photo-Enforcement Tickets; Actually He's Just a Dude in a Mask Who Won't Pay the Tickets - Phoenix News - Valley Fever

And here is a pic:

"Officer, with all due respect ... that is clearly a monkey driving an automobile. For you to insinuate I could be said monkey is ... insulting and degrading."

I'm no expert on the subject, but wouldn't you drive something a little less recognizable than a car with lettering and checkered flags when pulling off something like this???

I heard about this on the radio this morning, but had no idea it was a subie! Don't know if this bodes well for other subie-owners, but the story in general is hilarious, and I'm always up for a good ol' "question the law" case.

If you're going to go through the effort, get a less conspicuous ride like TR said, put on a mask and rig up a plate shield so then it would just be an unidentified monkey driving a car.

Good for him! I got a ticket from a speed camera in Arizona almost a year ago. I threw it in the trash and haven't heard from them since and nothing has showed on my record. I like that guy's ticket avoidance system much better, though.

That's probably because AZ and VA are not reciprocating states. However, if you every get pulled over in AZ again you will likely find your privilege to drive in the state has been suspended. I don't know specifically about AZ laws but in many states driving on a suspended license = arrested and taken to jail. Of course if you never plan on going back to AZ (or driving there) then it may not present too many issues for you.

Is there a list of areas that have these cameras? We have a few cameras on the interstate here in VA, but I believe (hope) they're all for local weather channels...

Usually there are online databases of them. In VA, if I recall so long ago, the ones in N VA like Manassas 66, 81 corr, and those areas are all for weather. If they don't have several one for back one for front then no worries.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out next time I pass the one that scared me. A word of warning for any casual speeders in VA, avoid WOODSTOCK! They always have state troopers positioned on the interstate, and will pull you over for 75.

Back on topic... That Subaru looks like Domo Kun!
