    Update: 3-2-10

    259,875:
    The tranny decided to throw second gear into the bottom of the case. Considering that the tranny is mostly a cumulative stress item, I am pretty happy with that mileage. That poor tranny has seen some abuse
    Anyway, since the tranny is out , I will replace the clutch as well, (o.e. clutch, never been replaced ) and that should serve me through the useful life of the car.

    dunno if i have chimed in here before. 163,500 on my 02 WRX as of 2 days ago. shes been sitting at work (Firestone) for a few days due to me having a run in with a curb when there was mad ice everywhere. it was one of those slides where your going 2 mph but you cant do ANYTHING to stop it lol. any combo of speed, wheel turning, gear selection wasnt helping me. it was the slow advance to the curb till BANG!


    boned the r/r strut, knuckle, rotor, whee, sway bar and endlinks...pretty much everything in the right rear corner of the car LOL. all good. used parts FTW. gonna go junkyard hunting ina bit.

    I just recently joined the forum. Just over 121,000 on our 2003.

    Lost the clutch at about 60,000 - BIG fight with the dealer (based on a "little white lie" they told me when I bought it - thank you CARFAX) but they ended up making it good.

    Trashed 1st & 3rd gears at about 80,000 - that was not a fun check to write out!

    Replaced the struts at about 100,000.

    2002 wrx full turbo back and new uppipe, 211,700 miles. just replaced the stock clutch still running to the track!

    totally forgot about this thread just turned 100k last week. lent my car to a family member and he took all the teeth off of second gear. replacement parts just put in. wont b lending my keys out any more.
