My baby got SHOT!

It happend between 1 A.M. to 5 A.M on Tuesday, June 30th. Sheboygan,WI

This morning when i went out to my car to head to work I unlock my car and open my door, and find that my passenger window is all smashed, so I immediately ran back upstairs to my apt. and called the police to report a break in. The nice lady on the phone says they don't send the police out to a residence if nothing was stolen. And thats true nothing was stolen, I had $300 in tools in my back seat from when i just changed my clutch this weekend at a freinds shop. So i was kind of disgusted that they wouldn't send out an officer to even take pictures so i started to myself. My GF noticed a hole in my drivers door panel, so (being the curious person I am) I started to take my door apart to find some metal shards in the bottom of my door. I totally thought it was a bullet, so i called up the police again and then they sent out an officer. The officer said it wasn't a bullet because bullets mushroom, not fragment. So he leaves. I was convinced that it was a bullet because I am not an idiot. So before I clean up the glass I looked in the alley where the passengers window was facing, and hey what do i find, 2 small .22 shells. One wasn't fired and one was an empty shell on the ground. so i called the police again and they sent out another officer to take a look. He called a senior detective to take pictures and collect the bullets. I didn't get pictures of the bullets but the outlines where they where found.

So with everything else going on in my life and this economy, some douche bag has to go and shoot out my window on top of everything, and the bad part about this is, I don't have insurance because i can't afford it. But i did manage to find a used window in a salvage yard for $125 bucks. So its not all bad and i should have it fixed by tomorrow. Oh yeah, the local dealer wanted $340 for that one piece of glass. Anywho I have lived in this apt. for about 4 years now and I haven't had a single problem with any of my neighbors at all.

You know you just get to feeling safe where you live and something like this happens, and your so paranoid that you can't sleep, and end up looking out the window at your car for a half hour at a time. Watching people walk by and thinking was it them or maybe him.

I felt bad for you then I saw this.

If you can't afford insurance, then you shouldn't be driving.

+1 No excuse.

Definitely looks like a 22 bullet did it.

I don't agree entirely.... I live in a society here in TX where 30% of ppl are running around without it. BUT, if it's paid for... just get liability. off topic of course.

That sucks....

That sucks. There was another thread a while back where a guy's wrx got shot.

I assume you mean you have liability insurance but not comprehensive?

You're complaining that someone gave you the m4d gangsta JDM mod for free?

In all seriousness, I'm sorry to hear about your car

Just because 30% of people are illegal, doesn't mean that it's okay.

It's crazy how lazy police can be sometimes. I know they're overworked and deal with this stuff everyday, but cmon "bullets mushroom, not fragment"...really?!

x10000000

Did you ever get in an accident before (maybe not in your WRX) but without insurance and end up screwing someone over? Karma perhaps?

its tough to feel too bad for you when you say you don't have insurance. Many of my friends have been on the receiving end of the shaft in accidents with people that do not have insurance.

If you cannot afford insurance, sell your car, buy a cheaper older relatively nice honda(or something similarly reliable), get some insurance and better gas mileage at the same time. Just my .02$.

That sucks about you car. I hope it's just a random thing.

Look on the bright side though. At least the officer didn't impound your car for not having insurance.

Before people continue to comment about his "not having insurance" - wait for him to answer this

Yeah please do not be driving any near me, my family, or friends without insurance. If you wreck I do not want them to be shafted more so then normally.

With that being said if you do not understand ballistics you should not laugh at the matter.

Certain rounds fragment while others will mushroom. Looking at your interior door panel would have lead me to believe it was a bullet fired more so then by the small peices of metal you pictured. In real life I'm sure someone could easily tell the difference.

If you think the economy and your money situation is rough now be careful not to wreck your car and have $30,000 worth of letigation lingering over your head.
