    AWD n00b

    Was running the Rex through Mullholland drive and Decker canyon today. Took off from a stop at around 5.5K (too high?) eased off the clutch until full pedal travel, once the clutch engaged it just spun like a mad man until it grabbed. Obviously I smelled clutch for the next 30 minutes. What should have I don different?

    I no stranger to turbo'd performance cars, but that was a new one to me.

    Sure. But you can roast your clutch when trying to perform a launch no matter what the condition of the clutch. More likely technique than equipment.

    If it starts slipping during normal driving, then you should worry.
