thats absolutely terrrrrrible..i am dying to get a tune and a few other things, but i do not want to mod anything knowing it could cease up and then have subaru blame it on me and try to screw me over..

has anyone seen any correlation with driving style and time of death lol?

no direct correlation that I'm aware of, but my guess would be that if Grandma owned on a 09 it might take a little longer to see it

Do you guys think its going to be ok. I think im going to bite the bullet on it today.
Go ahead and do it, the car is great! From all the research I have done it doesn't so much have to do with mileage accumulation but more to when it was built. More silver in the bearings for those certain months is what I got out of it. Anyway I came from a 07 STI, it's a good compromise of utility and speed

I wouldn't have any problem buying any Oct 08+ build date or even a 07-09 w/ a replacement engine

My car is finally done at the dealer. I can't wait to get it back, they set me up with an outback wagon as a loaner, and it has been fine, but it is so weak compared to my rex. The next thing to do is replace the windshield cuz of some big cracks from rock chips, quote on the shield is $663! Oh, I love it but c'mon baby!

I'm getting a windshield replaced as well, fortunately it's just a $100 deductible, I priced out the windshields and they are pricey- through Subaru anyways- not sure through PPG or the like????

I went through nationwide instead, it came out to $427. Now I am looking at replacing the HU with an alpine touchscreen and new speakers.

^ that's pretty reasonable for a windshield replacement- of course $100 sounds even better
