This problems only occurs with 08/08 build date? I own a WRX 2009 Hatchback 265hp with 17k miles on it and im a bit worried of this problem concerning my car (my WRX is 2009/2008). How can I know what month it was produced? The sticker on the driver's door jam doesnt tell what month it was produced and the dealership claims he doesnt know

Does somebody has a glue whether i'm safe or not? Last 6 VIN digits: 054336 (No, it doesnt start with "8")

No failures here in the last year? Any high mileage cars in the date range? My 07/08 is at 54,7xx. I had 2ppm silver at 7,500 miles. Stage 1 for 3k, stage 2 for 1k. Hope I'm going to be alright because I am very close to the end of my warranty FWIW with the mods...

I think you are safe as you fall out of the 08/08 - 09/08 range. I have an 08/08 and have started to hear a faint ticking . My oil sample should be at Blackstone on Thursday. I wish all surviving original motored brethen luck and long engine lives.

Yours may already have been done perhaps? How many miles do you have?

I don't know, Nasioc shows 21 07/08 failures. Let us know what blackstone says. I have changed my oil every 3750 +/- 300 with Rotella T-6. I'm hoping that taking good care of my engine doesn't push my failure outside 60k. My VIN ends in 50015X, so did someone else's motor that failed.

with how low most of everyone's failures are I can assume it may have already been done, but I still want to have Subaru run a national service history to find out. I have roughly 93k right now

    Hello,

I finally got around to getting a Blackstone report. My oil change at 57k had 1ppm of silver in it. Is there any other elements I should be looking for on the report? I am going in for my 60k soon and will get another report. I still own about 15k on this, but was contemplating looking at one of the STIs that have popped up for sale at the dealership. Has anyone ever turned in a car with 2 years of payments left on a car? Does this hurt your credit at all?

slim, if that is the only concern, I am not worried about that. I would rather owe 30k on a car that will last 6 years than a car that will blow its motor in 6 months . I do appreciate the feedback. I will be owning a civic till I an afford an sti . Your feedback is appreciated.

Not a problem m8. I've just seen too many people I know make that mistake and end up in deep crap because of it.
