some questions on 07 sti. need some tips

ok so i have some questions... first of all i should be acquiring a 2007 sti soon and i have been reading alot around this forum...with that said i was wondering if anyone could at least point me in the right direction as to what are somethings i should do/change once i get the car. (for example i have read that on an 06 its best to swap engine mounts if you have the liquid filled ones.) im assuming different year means different issues and i would be appreciative if someone could give me some pointers. thanks. -p

Since this is the suspension forum are you looking for suspension advice? I would first own the car for a bit and see how the stock suspension grabs you and then make improvements from there.

Congrats on the STi.

the car is pretty nice out of the box, right down to the tires (you'll need another set if you have "winter")

an alignment should be done early on- the oe spec is modest at best and folks often the alignment quite off right off the showroom floor

Though, there is a plus side to that ...

My tuner was getting +100wtq on a StageII tune

could someone explaine this a little to me... Can an 06 be modded more because of this? or does its having a better tune not matter

The factory tune on the '06 is better than that on the '07

The 2006 having a better tune just effects it right out of the box.

They are essentially the same car, however in 2007 they changed the gearing on the 6 speed trans...

You can mod either of them in the same general ways. The 2006 just had a better initial tune. Once you change the tune, it is essentially the same.
