the oe one gets a little better reception, but no real complaints w/ this- definitely looks better

I've thought about the shark fin ones, but not sure how much I really those (or how effective they are for that matter)

LOL. The broken passenger seat is funny.

well the car was simply too quiet for autox, soooooo

I put on a Borla straight section in lieu of the oe muffler

well it's not too quiet anymore I'd call it "rally-esque"

a little side benefit- the oe muffler was just shy of 28#'s, the Borla piece is 8#, not too shabby of a savings

Borla PN? Is it specifically for our car or did you have to have it bent/modified?

Nice where did you get yours? $400 for a chunk of SS pipe and a tip seem pretty steep.

Is it legal to run without a muffler? And how loud is it? Is it louder than one of those angled ricer catbacks?

In stock class you can remove the whole CBE....from the DP back is 'free'. Many/most people run a turn down right out of the the DP.

N1 style (ie angled ricer exhausts) are significantly less restrictive on the 3G WRX because of the lack of bends given the routing of the the exhaust on the 5 door.

it's pretty loud- if your not getting on it, then it's not too bad

legal for SCCA stock class, for street I think it would vary jurisdiction to jurisdiction- w/ most jurisdictions probably saying- yes you need a muffler

Borla makes a small round muffler that I might get welded in- my wife's tolerance for loud exhaust is significantly less than mine

Bigsky, I love the video! Looks and sounds awesome. That 2 min long autox converted street course you're on looks like a lot of fun.

What camera system/software do you use to overlay the map, 2 camera angles, and other acceleration/brakezone dealie?
    2nd WRX...

that is another driver's car/camera- I'm going to ask him at the next event what he is using as they it as good a setup as I've seen

the venue where we run is probably one of the best around- we get folks from all the way from ID/WA/OR to come, of course it's 400 miles one way for me

from the air- it can be configured dozens of different ways and the infield is large enough you still get a lot of "traditional" autox
