    suspension part numbers of interest

Thought I'd put together a list of part #'s that may be of interest for folks looking to upgrade using factory parts

I'll preface by posting what has what and what fits what

the 2008 WRX has a 20mm front sway bar and a 15mm rear sway bar
    the 2009 WRX has a 21mm front, w/ a 16mm rear
    the 2008/9 STi has a 21mm front, w/ a 18mm rear

the rear STi sway bar WILL fit the WRX, the front STi way bar will NOT fit the WRX

the 09 WRX received firmer springs- to the tune of 40+% stiffer, along w/ the firmer springs- firmer valved dampers
the 09 WRX also received firmer tops front & rear- these are the same tops as the STi uses (same part #'s)
the STi utilizes springs that are the same rate as the 09 WRX, but uses different dampers- the STi front dampers will NOT fit a WRX, the rears would but no real benefit to the STi ones over the 09 WRX ones

    to the part #'s

    09 WRX front sway bar (21mm) 20401AG040
09 WRX front sway bar bushings (need 2) 20414AG070
    08 STi rear sway bar (18mm) 20451FG010
08 STi rear sway bushings (need 2) 20464FG010
09 WRX front right strut 20310FG080
09 WRX front left strut 20310FG090
    09 WRX rear shock (need 2) 20365FG060
    09 WRX/STi front top 20320FG010
    09 WRX/STi rear top 20370FG010
    09 WRX springs front (need 2) 20330FG060
    09 WRX springs rear (need 2) 20380FG090

Alex sent a couple pics of the shift boot (working on the e-brake boot today)- Italian black leather w/ a stitching I was able to match up to the interior stitching- looks pretty nice

    ^^^Now that's pretty cool!

I also must say, the Alteza center console they make for the GD's is pretty pimp too!

Alex does pretty good work I had a 04 steering wheel he was going to wrap in a grey Alcantara, but sold my car before I got it done.

    Hey,

I was just wondering if you had upgraded your sway bar and where I could find the one that you chose? I trust your choices!

I upgraded the front to the WL 24/26mm adj one- it's the biggest one currently produced

In Stock autocross class you are only allowed to swap the front bar, can't touch the rear

if your competing in D Stock that is the bar I would recommend

if your not, and just looking for better performance- I'd recommend upgrading both front and rear- probably the WL 22/24 adj front combined w/ the 20mm adj rear (18/20/22)

    Sweet, thanks!

PS Does WL stand for Whiteline? And adj == adjustable? Sorry, I'm new...

PPS I think I will be trying to stay in stock class for autocross, so I'll probably just do the first one. And I think I'll be waiting until I actually do a few runs before swapping

    yup WL whiteline, adj adjustable

that's a very good idea! - try a an event or two (or three ) w/ the stock bar- it's very important to understand how a WRX handles- driver inputs will largely dictate how the car handles (or not handles for that matter )

you'll notice a big (nice) difference when moving up to the bigger front bar- but it is nice to actually notice it- if you threw it on now and never put the oe one through it's paces you wouldn't know what a nice difference it makes

Graphite! As an owner of silver I can tell you, with the brake dust they look graphite most the time anyways, so might as well get them to begin with.
