Those numbers are very impressive. If you figure 20% drivetrain loss (which I think may actually be a low estimate for a Subaru) the '09 WRX make 290hp/340tq at the flywheel!
As for the linearity of power and torque loss, it has to be a linear loss. Horsepower is simply a function of torque. Torque is the true measure of the energy the engine/car is producing. To arrive at horsepower (as used in the U.S.) you simply take torque*RPM/5252.

    Good to hear!

Seeing that dyno result, I think it will prove formidable on just about anything.

^ hoping to add a few ponies to that

Cobb catback- I kid you not, you could stand this up in your living room- the welds are perfect (I mean perfect), the stainless is flawless and all bends are very smooth- kudos for their craftsmanship and quality control

Cosworth panel filter- no oil, been down the oiled route before and found that the MAF is not found of oil

my goal is to get the break-in out of the way and then load up the exhaust/filter, get a few base dyno runs, bolt the exhaust up and slip in the filter and get a few more

Mike I'm not sure about the Cosworth panel filter, but I do know that AFE makes an oiless reusable panel filter. I have been running it for about 15k miles.

at this point I only have ~ 350 miles, a trip to Billings (have some parts waiting for me) would bring up to 650, the rate I'm going probably December before I hit a 1000 miles

nothing listed for AFE for the 08/09- it takes a different filter than the 02-07 (same filter as the LGT though)

When I bought mine in 06, they were selling wrx's for $23k and Sti's for $31k, and they had tons upon tons of inventory. Might be a little bit of a drive, but hell I'll travel 600 miles to save me a few thousand bucks.

Oh and the Premium package 09 wrx is way overpriced IMO. I'd offer $25k for it max.

may have found a source for custom sway bars This is one he built for a 09 WRX- 29mm vs the oe (in pic as well) 21mm

he said w/ the subframe arrangement of the 08/09's- there is plenty of room- he's thinking even 32-34mm if a guy wanted to go that big

    230whp and 270wtq stock

Man, I like this car more and more by the day. I cannot wait to see what this car does with stage2 + suspension work.

I know I keep saying this, but if I was going to drop sub-$30k on a car the wrx would be it. Which is saying a lot considering I thoroughly I disliked the 08' and would have taken an MS3 or Mini-S over it.

At this point I just hope they make enough of them that there doesn't become a shortage situation which drives the price up...
