I'm driving from SLC to STL in exactly one week from today.... and then back again 1.5 weeks later.

Done the trip a few times, and you're corrct, Nebraska is the most boring state in the Union to drive through.

But... there's a decent little town out in the middle of nowhere, within 50 miles from the EXACT mid-point between the two cities...... North Platte.

It's a good stopping point.

He couldn't write me up because my car is registered in Mass. They can't write you up for the ticket unless your car is registered in the state where the law exists.

Terribly. I almost lost control and crashed into a corn field.

The State Highway Dept. should erect a sign, "Warning: a curve ahead"

Either that or call FEMA or 9-1-1 or something.

In early June my family and I are making a week-long road trip: Bend - Lake Tahoe - Yosemite Nat'l Park - San Francisco - Eureka - Redwood Nat'l Park - Bend. I'm excited!

Eh? Montana experimented with no speed limits a while ago, but so many Europeans came over here to take advantage of it because of the crowding and increased areas with speed limits on the Autobahn that they put the speed limits back in place.

How did he get a speeding ticket if there was no speed limit then?

Here's two things I think a lot of people forget:
1. Cops can always give you a speeding ticket for driving too fast for conditions, even if you're driving below the speed limit.
2. In many rural areas, there is no speed limit posted because of the cost of putting up signs. The speed limit is usually 55 mph on 2 lane highways in this situation.

Well we were 1/2 from the border to get into montana. The Cop was waiting there for people because he knew people would be speeding.

I actually like the north route better, through Winter Park, Granby, and Steamboat Springs. It's less developed and more twisting state highway than I-70.

The Columbia River Gorge is cool too.
glenwood isnt very big for a hot springs nor is steamboat,

but when ever im traveling back home to denver and need to get some shut eye i always always stay in glenwood

No. From San Francisco we headed straight up to Redwood Nat'l Park then spent the night in Crescent City.

Do you have a connection to Ferndale?

No, but I made a trip similar to yours last year. Moonstone Beach and Ferndale were a couple of the highlights of that trip, as well as downtown Eureka.

Ahhh, I see. I think the highlight for me was Yosemite:

Seeing a bear within 30 minutes of our arrival was pretty exciting too. It was a juvenile, so I kind of wanted to go give it a hug:
