I'm driving from SLC to STL in exactly one week from today.... and then back again 1.5 weeks later.
Done the trip a few times, and you're corrct, Nebraska is the most boring state in the Union to drive through. But... there's a decent little town out in the middle of nowhere, within 50 miles from the EXACT mid-point between the two cities...... North Platte. It's a good stopping point.

Either that or call FEMA or 9-1-1 or something. In early June my family and I are making a week-long road trip: Bend - Lake Tahoe - Yosemite Nat'l Park - San Francisco - Eureka - Redwood Nat'l Park - Bend. I'm excited! Last edited by Nat; 05-15-2008 at 12:52 PM. |

Eh? Montana experimented with no speed limits a while ago, but so many Europeans came over here to take advantage of it because of the crowding and increased areas with speed limits on the Autobahn that they put the speed limits back in place.

Here's two things I think a lot of people forget: 1. Cops can always give you a speeding ticket for driving too fast for conditions, even if you're driving below the speed limit. 2. In many rural areas, there is no speed limit posted because of the cost of putting up signs. The speed limit is usually 55 mph on 2 lane highways in this situation.
