I got a $290 ticket for going 50 in a 35. I was pissed, first off because I just got my alignment done and oil changed so I wanted to open her up a little. I looked around, no one on the road. So I punched it in 2nd gear for like 5 seconds, just enough the spool the turbo. Then I slowed back down to 35.. and as I'm driving past I see this motorcycle cop sitting behind the bushes with his radar gun sticking out through the bushes.

I was ambushed.. then the ticket was $290 for going 15 over.... I was not happy.

"ambushed"
I love it when folks here try to color their law-breaking so as to make themselves a victim.

You broke law...cop did job. That's, err, pretty much it.

I actually gave him props on his stealthiness after he pulled me over.

Yeah, my problem isn't really how much I pay per ticket, it's more about the fact that cops seem to enjoy pulling me over. I don't know anyone else that gets pulled over as often as I do hah, atleast not out of my friends. I guess I'm kindof asking for it with the tint, plate covers, and such. But I would think police should have something better to do than to be pulling people over and saying..."That plate cover is illegal. Sometimes they get very dirty and you cant read them. I can read yours fine though. Yours I can see perfectly, and I had no problem at all. Some people dont clean their cars. Then if we can't read the plate, that's a problem."

makes no sense

Makes less sense to leave them on then.

I haven't gotten any tickets so far... knock on wood... But i get pulled over a lot. A couple of times because the cop literally says... and i quote, "You look suspicious."
I've been frisked and handcuffed on the back of my car, for absolutely no reason. He realized I did nothing and lets me go, then says my exhaust is too loud and is going to let it slide.

Out of curiosity, would you be willing to post up a pic of you sitting in the car, as you typically do, wearing your normal clothes, etc?

I'm not accusing you of anything..just honestly curious.

Get a radar detector, they work MOST of the time and can warn you of those annoying cops hiding behind bushes and blind curves waiting to catch a sucker

Learned at a young age in my old Escort lx before I could endanger society in a faster car. Maximum security in the county jail for a week awaiting my arraignment facing 7 charges. Lost the license for 160 days, probation for two years, and payed thousands in fines. Been a good boy ever since.
