We have mobile plate readers here - it scans every license plate and informs the officer of things like registration out-of-date, no inspection, insurance lapse, and suspended/revoked license violations. Get hit with one of them, and you're on your way to jail.

You made the decision that caused the judge to revoke your license, you need to deal with the consequences.

In all honestly the ODDS of getting caught driving with a suspended/revoked license is rather slim.

The reality is say you get caught speeding, get hit by someone, or get stopped for some other reason you are facing jail time.

Not to mention once the judge finds out that you violated their court ruling you face additional charges.

Go do "what you have to do" but judges usually dont take to kindly on directly disobeying their "punishment" when they try to take it "easy" on you.

My uncle owns a county-wide newspaper, and every week there is a Blotters & Dockets section (which lists the arrests). There are usually 20-30 violations I mentioned earlier in there on a weekly basis due to the plate scanner.

Not all areas have what I am talking about, but it's around in a few areas of NY - I am not sure if it has made its way down towards the city yet, though.

i dont think he went easy on me....he gave me a 6pm curfew and i have to go to work, i work til like 10 or later......im 18 yrs old not 12 i dont need a curfew.....if they are gonna charge me as an adult then i will be an adult and go to work and come back home when i get out......also they didnt "suspend" my license, the judge just physically took it from me.....it is not suspended by dmv.....also why would i tell the court i disobeyed their ruling?......they can scan my plates all they want, my car and my moms car are both registered to her and my license doesnt appear suspended anyway....i HAVE to go to work or else i cant help my mom out so i dont really care what the court says cause i have to live my life. I pay my taxes and all that dumb stuff they ask me for so they should just leave me alone and let me do my ****.....all the court is after is money

Exactly...you either A dont have it in your possession and the Officer will investigate or B might get another ticket at which time the judge can review your recent tickets and issue more punishment.


Sounds like the case of another teenager not taking responbility for their actions.

if i wasnt responsible then i would quit my job since i get out way after 6pm and then quit school since i wouldnt have enough money to take the bus every single day. I have another license people so dont worry about me.

my 2 misdameanors are speed contest and reckless driving (according to the cop)

Duplicate licenses, disregard for a court's authority, and an "it's not about what's right, it's what I can get away with!" attitude.

Regardless of whether or not you get caught for this particular problem, I'm thinking that this life philosophy will land you in jail, sooner or later. As you pointed out, you're 18 now. The gloves are off, as far as the judicial system is concerned.

Out of curiosity, are your parents on board with your plan to disregard the judge's orders? (The fact that you have "another license" makes no difference at all, btw. It's just another foot deeper into the hole that you're digging.)

surely your cops can check out your driving status at the side of the road via a phone call, over here all your details are kept on file and can be accessed by our police at any time.
So even if you have three licences it don't matter the info is updated on a computer after every incident.
