$1k seriously people? I spend more than that in coffee a year

Oh and I have a feeling there is gonna be a hefty hefty markup on the 1st model year of 1 series BMW's. Good luck getting one for under $35k.
+1 on the whole post...simply stated...

And looking at the interior of the STI compared to the rest of the WRX's...it kinda looks more like along the lines of a Limited anyway. It looks more "luxurious"

    BMW 135 pricing:

Tick the box for an automatic, and you're up another $1,275. Want the paddle shifters? Tack on another $100. The premium package boosts it up another $3,300; navigation with iDrive, $2,100. And on, and on, and on. The only thing missing is the price of the rarified air in the cabin, but BMW was nice enough to provide the windshield for free."

    well said.

$1500 more for sick interior, other creature comforts (rear wipers/fold down seats), +12hp, wider wheels, wider fenders alone.. i would say bargain.

Exactly. Then take into account that BMW's here are a pretty hot commodity and the "performance cars" are all subject to a $5000 minimum markup. There are 2 BMW dealerships within 15 miles and they both seem to follow this model. Example, a 335i goes for $45k-$48k, Z4 coupe was order only Msrp+5k, forget touching anything with an M monacher for MSRP. So you may want to take a look.

Also, Evo's here are very popular and are unobtainable no matter the trim level for MSRP. For example I looked hard at a 2006 EVO MR before I bought the WRX. Dealer tag said $42,000 on it "no haggle". They were selling 1-2 a week at this price.

Sti's can be had for MSRP because there are 5 Subi dealers within 50 miles.

I don't care one way or the other about how it compares to the price of the Evo, or last year's model, etc. It's just a matter of how practical it is for me to buy a $35K+ car. It's a pretty simple concept to grasp.

If my wife was to find a solid, full time job making reasonable money, I might consider it. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be making progress in that area, so I'm having to look at other, more reasonable alternatives. Not planning on buying another car soon, anyway...

35K is alot for you, but thats a spankin' good deal compared to us Canadians. It will probably be in the 50k CDN mark for us.

Since your $$$$ is strong right now, I'd drive across the border and buy one. Regardless of price diff in warranty claims.

I got mine for $31K, thank you. And proceeded to get rid of it so I could sock more money away in investments. I do miss that car, sometimes.

edit:Jeremy, what in the hell are you doing to your avatar?
