    Erich,

Any advantage to this since it tapers to a 3" at the end anyways?

Also, on my 3" I have fitment issues with the crossmember.. is there any issues with this?

The advantage is that most 3" downpipes block flow from the wastegate into the downpipe. Some use a bellmouth which allows exhaust gas to flow from the wastegate flapper into the downpipe freely but it can still create turbulence thus not allowing as much exhaust gas to escape through the turbine outlet and wastegate. The full 4" downpipe allows the pulses from the turbine and from the wastegate to flow freely gradually tapering down into 3" for the rest of your exhaust.

As for fitment, 02-05 wrx's have very tight fitment with the crossmember but STi's fit fine. We use them on most of the turbo-back exhausts we build in the shop.

It should work with most aftermarket cat pipes; however, the flange may be different. It works best with a 2 bolt flange and not the doughnut gasket that came factory on the car.

Here is Zack installing one on a customers car (I think it was an 03 wrx)

    Turbo down

    Tight Clearance

Cut a small piece off the crossmember, now fitment is fine.

    Bolts up no problem

It should work fine with your exhaust as long as it uses a 2 bolt flange instead of the factory style doughnut gasket. There shouldn't be any fitment issues with the 06 other than the bottom nut on the downpipe where it connects to the turbo being very hard to put on.

We havn't tried to bolt the 4" up to an 08 wrx but to our knowledge the only topspeed downpipe that fits the 08+ wrx is the 3" one with the cast bellmouth piece. (which we have in stock).

    here you go

Technically it's not for an 08wrx but it fits around the crossmember. It may not be a direct bolt up to your exhaust.
