** ACCESSPORT with FREE PERRIN MAP **

FREE PERRIN MAP WITH THE PURCHASE OF AN ACCESSPORT

We here at PERRIN are happy to announce the following:

We are able to offer our customers not only the AP but also CUSTOM PERRIN MAPs for most applications, and these applications will be tuned depending on the octane of fuel you have and types of parts installed. This means more power than the base maps normally provided with the AP. So not only will you get all the free COBB MAPs you'll also get the PERRIN MAP too

    Part Rundown:
The AccessPORT is a reflash tool that allows us to create custom tuned calibrations (using the OEM ECU’s existing internal maps), then allows you to flash them onto your car. This is done using the OBD diagnostic port under your dash, and the AccessPORT handheld device. With our custom maps loaded onto the AccessPORT, simply plug-in, push a few buttons, and your car is remapped for more power.

Besides the AccessPORT being a great tool to reflash your ECU with, it also can do things like:
    * Allow for On-the-fly map switching, with provided maps
    * Read/Clear engine trouble codes, so you don’t have to go buy another $100 tool.
    * Estimates horsepower and torque, so you can see the increase in power from the PERRIN maps.
    * Measure 0-60 and 1⁄4 mile times, drag race simulation with reaction time and “time slip” data.
    * Adjustable on-screen Shift Light functionality

What does all this mean in the end?? More power of course. With staged PERRIN part/map packages the AccessPORT can unlock even more power beyond just bolting on parts. In some instances, this can add 20WHP beyond what just parts added. In other cases, this allows for more than 300WHP more power!

Plus we have LOTS in stock and ready to ship! Only $694.99 PLUS you get the PERRIN MAP for FREE (normally $875).

I asked this question to y'all a while back. What do your maps do over COBB's OTS maps? In other words: If I chose a Perrin map, is it better than a COBB map ? Never got a response from Perrin on this.

Good question, while the numbers below are for a 2008 they are almost identical to your 2007 WRX.

The lower HP graphs are what we got from our STOCK 2008 WRX, on the stock ECU. After an ECU reset to ensure things were ok and running smoothy, the base HP runs were estabolished. Unlike the STI the WRX runs very well in stock form. Like most of the newer Subaru engines, the ECU runs 14.5 AFR while on boost, up to about 3300RPM. This seems very dangerous, but obviously it works fine for low boost levels, and is done for emissions reasons. ZERO knock was heard, ZERO timing retard was seen, it ran very very well. Smooth, maybe not, but that is where we can come into play.

Graph showing Stock 08 WRX, Cobb Stage 1 mapping, and PERRIN Stage 1 mapping.

We first flashed the ECU with Cobb's Stage 1 map. Boost went up to 15psi, and tapered back down to 8-9-is at redline. The increase in boost at peak torque (3500RPM) made for an extra 20ft-lbs of torque, and 25WHP at 3500. As you can see, power at redline didn't change, because the boost was the same.

Now it was time to play! With some AVCS tweaking, adding a little more boost, changing boost response, you see what kind of results we got! At 3000 RPM, 65ft-lbs of torque over stock mapping, and at the same point we made 35 extra HP. The biggest gain we got was at lower RPM where the tiny WRX turbo is happy. At upper RPM, the turbo shows its small nature. The boost drops off after 4000 RPM and there is nothing you can do about it.

    Hope this helps

    Ken
