intake silencer - help!

hi all - sorry to double post this, but i couldn't find it: i'd like to remove my intake silencer, but i don't know how to do it. PlatinumWRX, can you give me a hand? anyone else is welcome, of course.

question: what is the model# of your k/n filter? i called pep boys, and they claim to not have it. what part# should i give them?

K&N # 33-2031-2 (listed for Nissan Maxima). I think on K&N's website, they now list a part specifically for the WRX, at least that is what I have heard. Probably not in the parts books yet thats why nobody can find it for you.

or you can try the ITG Panel filter. It's British made. I have one and it fits perfectly on my WRX.

I ordered mine through Rally Performance. Basically you email the guy and he'll send you the paypal info/bill and you pay it that way. I got my filter within a week.

Ok, i removed my intake silencer but now my airbox is just leaning up against an open hole in the fender. Is it supposed to be like that or is the "ram air" scoop supposed to be connected to the airbox somehow? any info would be appreciated. thanks
