Open invidia exhaust no cat engine light comes on

Hello i've placed an open invidia exhaust on my wrx, now the "check engine" light comes on... I've heard that's a common problem (lambda get's dirtty) and that there are solutions. What can i do?

what are you driving?

if you have an 04+ wrx or 04+ sti you absolutely must get a tune for an aftermarket downpipe. typically depending on what kind of tune you get, it will clear out the check engine light.

i'm only assuming that's what the CEL is for though, since it came on after you swapped out the exhaust.

the best thing to do though is get the code check and let us know what it is.

You removed the converters, that's why the light is on (I'm going to guess the code is a p0420). You need to have the code disabled and get a tune as stated.
