The amount of air is fixed but the surface area on the IC that the fixed amount of air hits is not.

I think there were temp measurements provided in one if the threads. I'm impressed with the mod, very high bang:buck.

    Hey Blarg,

Does this mod work for any year wrx? I have a 13' wrx sedan. I was wondering if you have any new pictures or videos of you doing it step by step. Not exactly sure and a little confused. Thank you!

Blarg had an early car and has not been heard from in years. Have a look under there and see what you've got.

I've been reading this and it looks like it might be worth a go. So far I've made the spacers. I used some aluminium honeycomb, 2 pieces bonded together to about 3/4" thick.

I thought the honeycomb would be good because it is lightweight, strong and shouldn't have much heat transfer through it, as it's mostly air.

I'm waiting for the adhesive to fully cure, then I'll drill the holes and fit. Just in time for the NZ summer. :-)

Couldn't get a decent shot of before and after through the scoop. The spacer are about 20mm (3/4"). I filled the exposed core on the sides with some Devcon aluminium epoxy just to tidy them up a bit.

I did this mod on my 2005 FXT, all the tilt does is make more surface contact with air flowing through TMIC

I already have a hard time putting my TMIC back on correctly with the stupid TB hose I'm a little scared to do this mod.

This is intended for the earlier generation GD WRXs.
