DIY short ram intake

The only reason I was asking about connecting it to the inlet hose was...

I have seen similar setups where people run FMICs and need an intake. My plan was to get the Apex-i short ram and attach it with a silicone coupler to the inlet hose, like some members here are running. My question is, would this work better or equal to the apexi filter setup? It would be cheaper but than again for about 50 dollars more I might as well get something that is proven.

Just tossing it out there.

i did it. it's mostly a noise maker though. no CELs so far

got it done. i got one cel when i first put it in a i was up in boost all the way up into 5th... turned the car off and back on cel went away. haven't had one the rest of the day. and oh boy does it sound woderful....i'm in love i think.

I'm going to give this a try today, i'll let you all know hw it works out. and if it blows up, i'll get it fixed saturday at the meet.

I did this to my intake today. It seems to just be a noise maker. Looks pretty good though. Def. a cool diy mod...anyways thanks for the write-up!

Just so u guys know i did this mod and im using the accessport. I threw a p0300 code ( random misfire code ). And my car went into limp mode. Although it says this in the title of the thread. Just though id give a heads up...

I did this before I even thought about EM and it worked great; never got a cell. But as soon as I went with the AP it threw that P300... Even after I got protuned, once in a blue moon it would throw the cell. I've since "upgraded" to the COBB SF intake and have had no CELs since. I think this option is better suited to people with no EM, UTEC, or people getting protuned in the near future. Glad it's *kind of* working out for people though...
