I was driving on an uphill battle against an E36 M3 today. It lasted about 3 minutes, and I was in 3rd gear, chasing him the entire time. I did pretty well, never really letting him get more than about 6 cars ahead of me (I always kept about 4 cars between us just in case).
I was driving in 3rd gear the whole time between 3,500-5,000rpms for the 3 minute hill climb/Initial D attack, and at the top I turned and he kept going. When I came to a stop, I was at a gate, and had to check in to this resort I went to go hiking at for the day.
Anyway, while sitting in my car waiting to go in, smoke started to come out of my driver side circular A/C vent (one closest to the driver's door) for about 30 seconds, then stopped. I continued up the drive to the place, then turned my car off without any more problems.
Smelled like coolant....but why would it be coming out of my vent? Last time I had my coolant problem, it was coming out of my hoodscoop.
