Thanks Lowball, just what I needed. I'll probably get the dual tip cat, but I'm just curious, does the single tip sound the same as the dual? I think the 4.5" tip looks just a tad bit too ricey.
I know I heard one once. Can't remember if it was the same or not. Catless is pretty loud. An I agree about the larger tip. I just like the DT on the wagon I guess. Stromung also makes a very nice DT setup.Originally Posted by mustangtx63

to answer your question, it is by far one of the least riciest exhaust ive ever heard on a rex in person - couple of my friends have subies and their exhausts really dont sound as good. As for being quiet - forget it. Very loud but not out of control - you can still hear your music and enjoy the ride - and highway drives dont give you a headache but it can be clearly heard from far away- Not obnoxiously but music to my ears. I will admit though- im not the biggest fan of the tip (4"). Everyone ive talked to though thinks it looks just fine and not too ricey - fits the car. I wouldnt mind getting a new tip but im not willing to sacrafice that sound- very throaty and low-pitched pops make it sound extremely aggressive - i really need to post a good sound clip - havent heard a good one yet. And also - with the silencer inserted, very quiet. Best of both worlds.Originally Posted by t-rx

lol, its funny, today as i was driving around i spotted the house in my area where this one WRX lives. i gotta go ask the guy how much he bought it for/from where/what the hell that sweet sounding exhaust is. it's sounding like greddy but im not 100% sure.
MY Stock Dual tip on a 2002 wrx
wrx stock exhasut.mpg
02 wrb wrx stock turbo fmic 26 psi (it can be done)
Heres my exhaust ( ERZ Up, Helix Down, Stock Cat-back + HKS SSQV BOV)
I think it sounds pretty mean for the stock catback. You can also hear a little bit of afterfire![]()
I can't wait to get my Helix cat-back!
