Aha, I forgot about that one Are you running some form of engine management or was that extra power just due to a cooler charge temp?

So basically this just cools down the aire charge to allow cooler air into the intercooler?

Looks like a nice clean job.
Would it be a good idea to combine this with a mister system for the top mount IC?

Yes, the system introduces water (which is excellent at absorbing heat) to cool the intake charge and lower peak combustion temperature. This allows for a denser intake charge (somewhat) but is most useful in controlling pre-ignition and detonation allowing one to run higher boost and/or ignition timing. You can also lean out your air/fuel mixture to a more optimum ratio because the rich mixture you normally need to run to cool the cylinder is no longer necessary...

I kind of figured it would create a denser intake charge since it will introduce more oxygen into the intake. Thanks Richard.

I have done nothing to take advantage of the WI yet - I have a unichip so the ECU has some self learning it can do. I will be changing to a TXS v2 TMIC in a couple of weeks and in July should be able to get my car on a new dyno here in St Louis. THere is a unichip tuner here at Axis Motorsports who are getting the dyno.

Then we see what we can do!

Another guy here in St Louis running a WI system and a UTEC is getting excellent gains - that is after he already dyno-ed at 310whp!!!

it looks like its connected after the intercooler, you could probably use it for more than just water.

I paid $500 for the 2D from PPE Engineering under the group buy on NASIOC. The total install time would be around 3-4 hours with lots of head scratching on where to put stuff.

No nitrous for this little black duck! I am only after the WI to allow me to go over the 300whp and have the ability to deal with lower octane gas if need be.

Congrats man. Now you can reliably up the power and have a real road monster on your hands. Good pics as well for anyone interested in this mod.

I had the intercooler water spray before I went with WI!!

I have the MRT water spray controller. I triggers based on boost and the temp of the air after the intercooler.
