Most of the products I've seen from GFB are junk.. and I may be wrong, but I think I remember the TurboXS BOV being prone to leaks.

Interesting. From what I have seen, GFB seemed like a very good quality product.

There are several reports of leaks on GFB valves. I'm not sure, but I just know which ones I'd buy, and GFB isn't one of them. I also refuse to buy ANYTHING turboXS. They're a crap company. I can't remember who... it might be donkey... but someone has a link in their signature with some surprisingly crappy info on TurboXS.

Probably Justin... he had an *ahem* "falling out" with TXS.

TXS generally builds quality items, and given that they're local I've been to the facilities.

It was Brian. Just found the link.

It's a bunch of stuff about how their UTEC support was crap, and they weren't responding to calls, emails, or forum messages / chatter. Basically they said f u to the users of UTEC, and won't unlock it, and are letting it age as a dinosaur which means everyone that bought them now has a useless EMS because tuners have all but dropped their tuning support.

    http://forums.evolutionm.net/turbo-x...ease-help.html

Edit: Reading through there... it doesn't seem as bad as Brian always made it sound... but still... I think they're a cheap company, and a lot of their stuff (ie the TMIC and FMIC) looks identical to the godspeed chinese ebay crap.

lol.. yeah, something tells me Justin isn't a fan.

It seems that TXS parts are well made, but their service leaves something to be desired. I had a talk with them a few years ago about testing my UTEC to see if it was functioning properly and they straight up told me they wouldn't do it at their location in the US and if I wanted to get it looked over I would need to send it to Australia.. and to expect it to take several months before someone would actually look at it.

I'm pretty sure that has been answered in this thread.. but if you absolutely want to go with an atmospheric valve I would recommend the Tial Q BOV. Just keep in mind that it has to be spprung and shimmed very precisely to function properly and not leak. It will also need to be serviced on a regualr basis. If you care about performance then the Forge Recirculating Race BOV has worked perfectly for me over the years.. although requires regular service to continue functioning properly as well.

APS if you can get one is the best valve out there in my humble opinion. APS stopped shipping to america though.
TIAL and Cobb are also great valves. The Cobb unit is specifically designed for the WRX. It's a costly valve though. If you're going for cheaper... Forge sounds like they have their act together, but I've never had any personal experience with one.

    That makes me sad

The bpv, TMIC, intake manifold, turbo, and throttle body are all set up differently. The WRX is based off the old legacy style, and the STi is based off the old WRX style.
