Why is my bov making my car stall while driving?

I recently installed a turboxs rlf atmospheric bov on my 2010 wrx. It sounds cool and is decently loud, but when I'm driving, my car just shuts off. It's really annoying because the power steering turns off and I have to steer really hard and pull over and turn my car back on. Why is it doing this? Also, since there's no place to hook the recirculation tube back onto, it just Hangs there and I don't know whether to just leave it, or is there something I should do with it?

Check out this thread, it will answer all your questions about BOVs: "The BIG BOV thread" (Where all bov question threads get merged)

Most people here would recommend against installing a BOV in the first place. It sounds like you're experiencing a common symptom of an atmospheric BOV on a subaru:

there is a small mechanical downside to having an after market BOV (VTA) on a stock WRX. The problem comes when releasing air to the atmosphere that has already been metered by the mass airflow sensor. When the BOV releases (blows off), the ECU will be injecting the wrong amount of fuel into the cylinders. The engine temporarily runs too rich (meaning too much fuel is injected into the cylinders). This temporary rich condition isn’t typically THAT harmful, but it may cause bucking or hesitation on lift-throttle. The rich condition can NOT be eliminated by engine management or tuning.

My advice? Put your stock valve back on, sell the aftermarket one, then check out the starting mods threads. There's a wealth of information there to help you figure out the mod path that works best for you.

If however you do absolutely insist on keeping the BOV you NEED to plug that recirc hose with any sort of plug (usually poly sprinkler line plugs work well) and a clamp. Your essentially giving a place for dirt, or even small rocks a place to go into your turbo after the filter which could end very bad. This will help the car run better but still not well. Best thing to do as said before is remove it completely and go back to the stock one.

Also, I would not suggest driving your car until that recirc hose is plugged
