Also i did search, and i got an error after 2 tries. Forums have a wonderful way of getting rid of crappy posts... no one replies and they go away. I will attempt so save the internet trees by not posting and using internet paper.

Installing the BOV on my old TSI took maybe 30 mins... if the sound get old i can always take it off. I just like the sound, and i don't want to get some crappy BOV.

Any recommendations on other brands or types?

    First Question, BOV, sorry!

Hey guys I am probably going to buy an 02 WRX that I went and looked at today. My only problem is someone put a BOV on it, now I do know that that the car is tuned to 12 psi. Reflashed, or chipped whatever you call it. I know im new at this sorry.
My question is can you tune the car for the BOV or is there no way they could've tuned the car for the BOV?
If they can tune it for it will it still cause engine problems?

It's tuned for 12 psi? Who tunes a car for less then what the factory gave you from the start.

You cannot tune for a BoV.

And +1 to less boost than stock?

    Classic!

Makes me want to run out and get a VTA BOV, Injen Intake, and really F-up my car. I wonder if my block can handle 12PSI? LOL.

    To the OP:

Please read the FAQs/Stickies on the top of the forum. Also read this:

Hey everybody new to the forum: READ THIS! - NASIOC

Also, I would be weary of buying a used '02 w/a BOV. You have no idea what the previous owner did to it (it may be one good run away from rod knock). If you are serious about it I would get it checked out by an experienced subaru mechanic (and no the idiot techs at the dealership do not count). You need to do a compression/leak down test at least.

I think the numbers the guy gave me are wrong. He told me it dynoed at 325-350 hp at the wheels.
What boost psi would that generally be around?

Who knows maybe the guy is just bluffing me.

He's likely blowing smoke up your butt. That's more power than the stock motor will handle reliably. If it didn't have a boost gauge, either random parts were parted from the car or it's not making anywhere near that.

I agree with the others, DO NOT buy it. I recommend you do some research, as I suggested in my post earlier.

Personally, I would be weary of buying any EJ205/2.0L that has been modded and most likely driven hard as hell. My EJ205 gave out with a Cobb Stage 2 OTS tune (Rod knock/spun bearing). Also, the '02 WRXs have the weakest tranny of all the 2.0L WRXs (02-05 WRXs have the 2.0L).

What is the most boost those motors reliably handle?
