    BOV Shopping

    Hey everyone:

I just got my STI a few months ago and I was shopping for a good dual port blow off valve. I heard Turbosmart was really good... Any suggestions?

Here's what you need to do:
    1) Do a search on this site for "BOV" and pay attention to what you read.
    2) Go spend your money on a worthwhile mod.

I'm running stock boost pressure, I've heard about people doing this, and theres a youtube video when someone did, and you could accutally hear the BOV... thats really all I want, is to hear it...I just got the car and I was wondering if i just took the resurculating hose off and just plug it and have it run open atmospher... would i hear it then??

That's not going to be good for the engine.

i think what your looking for is the "air intake silencer delete" aka snorkus. search it up on this forum, tons of instructions and you'll hear it a lil better

They are usually crushed with people running higher boost levels around 20. There are a few people on IWSTI who have done it might want to search over there.

you cant leave the recirculation tube open because it will take air through that instead of the intake and that air is unfiltered

unless your having your ecu tuned to run that BOV properly, i suggest you dont get one.

i was lead to believe that you dont need to tune to properly run a BOV but i could be wrong.

Also, BOVs are not beneficial for our motors unless its a recirculated one. If anything, you may lose then gain.
