I have an old cheapo mbc and i install it after the bov t and ran straight to the wastegate but the car seems to completely ignore it, running at +17psi(i didnt go further) .my stock solenoid t is disconnected.

Any ideas? on how to get my 14psi back? new mbc? its the ebay one i think but bought it at a car parts store.

my advice would have been different if the OP was not having trouble with the parts

at least my post was advice for the guy with boost issues, did you not even read the OP? the parts made his car run like crap...

What is your way late to the party advice Barto?

    BOV require ECU modification?

Very new to the WRX scene and was wondering if an after market BOV will require ECU modification? Thanks

the negative effects caused by a BOV cannot be fixed, even with an opensource tune or accessport.

so i guess to answer your question... "no" you dont need an ECU reflash/modification.

A VTA BOV, HAS A NEGATIVE AFFECT, BUT YOU CAN GET CUSTOM TUNE TO CHANGE UR AIRFUEL RATIO FOR WHEN YOU SHIFT.

Neither of these posts are entirely correct.

Oh and btw Justin, typing in all caps is difficult to read. Continuing to do so is just rude.

    This is not true.

Nothing short of changing the car over from MAF based tuning to MAP based tuning is going to resolve the issue.

MAF reads air - ECU sends fuel - BOV V's TA - engine still gets fuel but with nowhere near the air expected. Fuel doesn't combust properly, and excess fuel now strips oil from cylinder walls then get's blown out in the exhaust. Car runs obscenely rich for a moment, may stall. Excess Fuel and Oil is damaging to catalyst in exhaust. Increased cylinder friction and temps for a moment. Increased oil consumption.

All so you can hear "pssh". Get a SRI or do the silencer delete/elbow and you'll still get enough of the noise to hear it in the car, but not enough to sound like a tool.

The only sure bet, if you REALLY are set on a blow off valve is getting a 50/50 recirculating bypass/blow off valve. That can be tuned to work properly w/ your vehicle

If you're genuinely curious why that is... look into open and closed loop cycles of the ECU vs intake pressure after the turbo.

Alternatively, you could use the even safer APS two-stage BOV. It's 100% recycle at low boost and then moves up to hybrid as necessary.

    Uhm.... no

By doing this, you're correcting the problem when it's less severe, and allowing the problem to occur when it's most severe.
