I don't think recirculation has anything to do with the BOV actuator spring- thats just how easily the BOV goes off under boost. What I think you have is just a standard BOV (not capable of recirculating), because they usually have a spring tightening/loosening (or hard/soft) feature.

The proper fix would be as follows:

    1. Remove BOV

    2. Re-Install Recirc valve and all associated hardware and hoses

    3. Sell BOV on E-bay

    That's my $.02, Sorry.

There is no map offered by Cobb to account for an aftermarket BOV

Not that simple - search about BOVs and read up on how it has issues with the MAF system

Ultimately, do what you want - it's your car.

+1, no car actually needs a BOV, but if you really want one, go ahead. It can reduce the life expectancy of your spark plugs and CAT.

To each their own I guess...

ALSO IF THE PRESSURE ISNT RELEASED WHILE YOU SHIFT OR BETTER RECIRCULATED IT WILL SLOW THE SPIN OF UR TURBO DRAMATICALLY OR MAKE IT EVEN HAVE BACK SPIN. SPARK PLUGS ARE CHEAPER THEN TURBO. I HAVE NO CATS

How long have you been there, military is about the only way to get around that. I was there for almost 6 years and never got SMOG tested... There are many ways around it. I'm DLA now... Government duty FTW!!!
