    i have the same bov and the first day i had it the same thing hapened\\it also happened when i had the bov off for about a month

    Bov Illegal In Ca?

    i live in ca around the bay area is a blow off valve illegal in ca im about to put on a hks one but if it is illegal what kind they do??fix it ticket?smog?big fine?etc thanks

    prob none, but it will make you run rich which can lead to problems.
    Tuned by Jorge at P&L, 240.83whp 239.60wtq at 14.8psi on 2.0L with stock td04 (But doesn't run)

    i say atleast half. you will become alot slower in the quater mile, your driveability will suck... its not worth it...

    yes it i illegal, but just carry around ur bpv and if they say somethin bout it just swap it ut right there in front of them, thats what i did!

    Since, like all BOV question threads, your thread has been merged into the "Big BOV Thread"... I recommend you go read page one of this thread. It actually has useful information on it.

    You will not likely see a significant reduction in power simply from having a bov on your car.

    BOV Question

    Hi,

    I'm on my 2nd WRX, my first had an HKS SSQ BOV, 3in exhaust from the turbo back and a short shifter. My new one (also an 02) is bone stock. I was thinking of putting another BOV on it wo any other mods, and when I spoke to a very knowledgable guy he told me that the I was better off with the stock valve because it helps keeps boost pressure at low rpms and keeps the turbo spooled. Is this right? Love the sound of a BOV, but if it does more harm than good, whats the point?

    That man sounds very knowledgeable to me...listen to him. Better off without it for prolonging the life of your car.
