are bov illegal?? will cops pull you over and give u a ticket for having a BOV???
kinda, because it is not recirulatein the air, but most wont know the difference, just carry ur stock bpv around wit u just in case!
Depends on where you are. I can tell you in Colorado, the law basically says that you cannot do anything to remove the exhasut system for the original manufacturers specifications. That being said, the BOV is on the intake side of the turbo (I think!!! <-- N00b), so it doesn't really alter the original manufacturers specification. However, there is also another law saying you cannot alter the vehicle in any way that increased the sound level coming from your vehicle. I think there are quite a few BOVs that DO alter the sound coming from your vehicle. At the very least, it does give the officer probable cause to stop you and inspect your vehicle.
I know in California, there are many, many laws preventing very specific modifications to vehicles. In some instances, your car can be impounded and not released until it is returned to stock form AND you go see a judge and pay your fines.
Now, like I said I don't know where you are. Try a google search for your states DMW website. Search and start from there.
