A 50/50 BOV Isn't need because the stock one won't be leaking at those boost levels. But they do sound cool!

    Blitz BOV and Flutter

Hey guys, I've looked around all day long at sites researching compressor surge, trying to figure out if the fluttering sound I'm hearing is from my Blitz Dual Drive BOV or from actually surge back into the turbo. I am running stock boost on my WRX, and only get the sound in low boost situations. That said, I have two questions for you:

    1. Since it is only at low boost, if it IS in fact compressor surge, is it anything to be worried about? Basically I can be cruising at around 70 in 5th gear, running around 2800 RPMS, and get a slight flutter at throttle lift.

    2. For any of you that HAVE the Blitz: Is this BOV known to have some flutter to it? I know it has two ports... one for low boost and one for high. I'm wondering if maybe the low boost port makes a different sound than the typical "whoosh."

    Thanks for the help.

if it's a 50/50... do you have the "low boost port" as you call it... going back into the turbo inlet (recirc style), capped off... or is it open?

my hks flutters at low boost, but thats normal. its also a mix of my bov and my external wastegate. if your running everything stock, i suggest ditchin the bov till you need it. our cars hate them. im tuned and i still get backfires and flames.

its probably not generating enough boost to open the bov fully. so therefore it flutters. my old RFL did that.
