I'm sorry. I was being sarcastic. If you really like that sound get the SPT intake, or the K&N typhoon intake.. or the COBB SF. I recommend the SPT or the K&N b/c of the heatshields.

    BOV question

ok so I know that changing my BPV is bad but how bad cause earily today at work I call up go subaru and talk to a tech guy and he said that it would not hurt the enginge and I see on here and other web site that it is bad to get a bov cause the BPV keep some of that air and puts it back to the intake and such but my question is what is the real damage I will do to my 05 wrx if I decide to put a BOV on it? thanks guys

bypass valve not only vents back into the intake, but also helps the car run perfect. if you have a bov, you risk the chance of the car leaning out. same with certain aftermarket intakes. just dont get one. if you want the sound, get the SPT intake. you'll get the sound that way. leaning out your engine will greatly decrease its lifespan, and it will NOT be covered under warranty if you fry a piston.

so think of it this way

SPT Intake + Heat Shield = 250 dollars from king of parts

BOV's go for 300ish + the 3000 dollar engine rebuild you might do in a worst case scenario.

oh yeah...i forgot to say also, you gain no performance from a BOV. intake + exhaust and downpipe will give you 20ish horses

and if you have the blowoff valve, that heat shielding on the underside of your hood will have a hole in it from the pressurized air, which could possibly cause rust haha

Since I am new to the Subaru but not to tuning cars with a MAF the problem is the Computer has already metered the air so if you do not return the air to the computer it can cause a lean condition when accelerating and everytime the air is purged and not metered it will cause a rich condition. I have not tried it yet but my guess the drive ability would be crap like all other MAF cars that have the BOV before the MAF. Speed Density conversion or putting the BOV before the MAF is the only cure and that could be done with a front mount intercooler with ease.

well the dealer is covering his ass. if he told you that it wouldnt do any harm, and the BOV ended up leaning your engine out. you could get it fixed for free because he specifically told you it wouldnt hurt your engine.
