So i'm looking into buying a TurboXS BOV. I'm not going to lie, its just got the sound. I hear BOV's are bad for wrx's that it can make the car run "rich"? how bad is that.. and how can i not make it run rich with the BOV still installed. thanks clubwrx. Or if there is a BOV that is designed not to do this "rich" bs, link it![]()

i just got my 02 wrx yesterday, and i want to put my friends old greddy rs BOV so my car makes the "cool" noise. i read in a BOV thread that it can cause long term engine damage.
is this really something to worry about, and i deff. shouldn't do it?
or is it not really a big deal?
It will make the car run rich in between shifts and it's really not worth it. Moving this thread into that bov thread you read.

Just say no to the bov.
Going Stage II Cobb with VF39 Map, catless upipe, pink inj. fuel pump, sti tmic. the question is this, on the vf39 map the psi stated by cobb is 18.9psi. do i need a new BOV or can I use my stock BOV. I really dont want to spend 300+ so that my car can go swoosh! unless I have too..
i bought a bugeye wagon and it has a noisy bov. I have aquired a factory unit, but i can't seem to get the recirculation hose back on w/o taking off the tmic. please tell me that i just havent tried hard enough. or at least tell me the secret. and there was no gasket. is it supposed to have one? stay sweet

what about a gasket? need one? for a newb, how long should it take me to get the whole project done? im pretty knowledgeable, but not so confident with this project. i don't want to lose boost anywhere. it seems there's so much to take off. i'm prolly just making it more than it needs to be. anyways thanks for the help. sure am gonna miss that sound. guess i'll just have my passenger make the pshhhht when i shift. ha
