hey dude. previous owner of the car here.

If you have any questions give me a shout.

you can see old pictures of the car here:

    http://www.mindoverstereo.com/forums

(if you ever get curious about where its been and what it has looked like)

it was at hot import nights a couple years back and theres a few pictures. Glad to see it stayed in the community

the screw on top is to adjust how much air goes in and out of it. you can pretty much leave it alone and never mess with it.

Blowoff valve means when the throttle plate slams shut from letting off the gas, the excess air is just thrown into the atmosphere (vented) and makes that psh sound.

Bypass valve (or recirc-valve) is like the stock one, and uses the extra air to push back into the intake. This is a performance booster.

a blowoff valve (the noisy kind) slows you down and causes your car to run all messed up. I had one on there and it causd the car to stall. I sold it immediately.

The BOV is mainly a saftey device which vents boost when the throttle closes so surge/boost doesn't go back into the turbo and back spin the turbine damaging it. It doesn't give any hp at all.

    Lol. So true.

Anyways, I got shafted on a Blitz DD bov. Yeah...came of a wrx my @$$. Its all weird lookin wiht a long tube coming out the bottom and I was like...umm...there is NO way this was on a wrx. No where for the adapter plate to be screwed on at all. But I don't know, I could be just dumb.

Did you get the adapter plate with it? Or is it just not lining up?

I think that's God's way of telling you to be nice to your car and ditch the BOV.

Wrong part for the right car... - do you really need the BOV?
