yes, all bovs will run rich between shifts...period...& before some ask about a recirc. "bov" not running rich...a recirc "bov" is a bpv(bypass valve) not a bov....

the best valve is the stocker....hands down...the only legit reason for upgrading to another bpv is the stocker will tend to leak at 18-19 psi...

Just what does this sound like?

The BOV your WRX was equipped with at the factory is the best one to use.

BONUS: It does not sound like a rat on steroids.

Sounds like my rx7 did with an hks BOV.

Here is a good way to find out what it sounds like for sure, go to the pet store, get the biggest rat you can find, feed him steroids for a few weeks, and then place him on the ground and stomp on him....that is what the car will sound like between shifts with an hks BOV.

Thanks for your help in this post, I'm sure the original poster finds it very helpful.

But surely not as helpful as the search function.

I say just let your friend buy whatever show-off valve he wants and then when his car begins to run like crap and idle funny you just laugh at him and give him a great big "told you so".
