as you said "I don't really the loudest BOV on the market"
, the RFL is REALLY LOUD. Prolly the Loudest in the market. forge is descreet with great sound.
I use a HKS SSQV without an insert, and it is pretty quiet with a very distinct sound but not the whistle.
and the blitz DD sounds good too. on my friends saab
decide what you want in a BOV
and find the one that fits you.

I just don't get this drifting thing, why would I spend money to put a car in the wall for a bunch of stupid 16 year olds with dreams of fast and Furious?

Hillarious.
i'm going to be buying a Forge off some guy on here for $95. Figured it's not a bad deal, and if I hate it...I can sell it to someone on here for almost what i have into it. Are used BOV's ok?....or should i stay away from them....he said he has all the springs and washers for the Forge model along with the IC bracket.
they are pretty simple devices, I bought mine used and unseen on these boards and it works great.
I know BOVs are useless but a HKS ssqv for 100$ could not be passed up.
good choice with the forge.

Yeah I'd prob. stay away from the RFL. Everyone I've talked to has had some problems with it leaking boost and it's a pain to mess with the washers.

Looking to get an after market bov in my wrx. I didnt want anything to loud, it drives me crazy, when ever I hear a nice sounding bov the car is driving the other way so I can never ask what they have. So Im asking first off on a stock wrx would an open air bov be a bad idea? Second is if its not a bad idea then what is a nice quite one so that the campus police dont pull me over every time i drive around? Thanks in advance!

Bump for a good question![]()
Well... I have, and am partial to, the GFB Stealth FX BOV. I've had it since my car was stock and the best part is it's fully adjustable. If you want it quite, make it quite. If you want it loud and obnoxious, do so. I even have the whistle trumpet which makes a REALLY sick sound, but not all the time. Only WOT over 4500 rpm (Which makes it nice because it's not obnoxious unless you're driving aggresively, typically when you want it to be loud) And you can do a 50/50 to make it loud, but not bad enough to piss any coppers off. And the people at GFB are AWESOME. Brett called ME!! To get my CC # to order the whistle trumpet and pay for shipping for the replacement center section that mine needed. The kicker is, I didn't pay for the BOV to begin w/, but Brett backs his products SO WELL, that he sent me a whole center sleeve for shipping only. Now THAT's support.
