you will hear a lil pssst when releasing full boost, nothing too loud. If you want it to be really loud and sound really good, get the HKS SSQV kit for the WRX. I have had it on my REX for a while now with no regrets.

Yes. You can even hear it with out a after market CAI. Do the "intake silencer delete mod". Then you could hear your BOV and hear your turbo spool.......

i didnt have any problems with my aftermarket one but i took it off after like a week, that noise is sooo stupid and annoying, but i got mine for cheap and thought id try it out plust i heard all the rumors about the stock one not being efficient after adjusting boost, and realized the stock bov is just as efficient as an aftermarket piece, NO NEED FOR AN AFTERMARKET ONE..thats all im saying

Why can't people just search? Why do they want everyone else to do their legwork for them? Why do they post the same questions that have been posted hundreds of times before? Why?

No, you don't need one. It doesn't matter because the BOV is before the throttle body, and a boost guage is after. So as soon as you close the throttle plate, the boost guage will read a vacuum regardless of what the BOV is doing.

As Hot Dog said you don't need a boost gauge for a BOV. But I would get the boost gauge rather than the BOV.
