Get some self etching primer and spray over the anodized parts. You don't need to scratch it off first.

If you want to get the anodizing off spay it with some oven cleaner. But the whole idea just seems pointless. Just clean it and paint it.

thanks guys, so I guess i am better off just paint it rite on top of the existing coating. I wanted to scrach the old one off cuz i am afraid the new color would be too dark.

so where can i get this self etching primer? Any specific brand? also can I use regular clear coat afterwards?

    thanks again

I have one of those obx full atm. on the rex and I have zero idle issues but between shifts the boost take a sec to go full on.Let me explain better: 2-3 shift (goes to 10lbs then to 15.5)it almost takes like .75sec to go full on from 10 to 15.5..In my case the loss is minimal.I recently put the stock back on.I love the psssh sound but to me loss of a performance is not a option if I am not benifiting from it one way or another

if someone wants it I used it for like 3 months throw 50 at me and you pay shipping (FL) if not it's just gonna roll around in my trunk

you can paint it with "g2" brake paint too. it only comes in a limited number of colors, but that 2-part polymer paint will stick to ANYTHING and is more temp. resistant that most spray paint...you probably don't want to spray anyway because you can clog the airway. of course that stuff ain't cheap so maybe make a project of it and paint your calipers while you're at it and use the extra to paint the BOV. seems really pointless though. you're doing a pointless thing to a pointless part.

lol yep, definatly pointless. well as I mentioned before, reason for paint it is 1. to fix the ugly scrach, 2 to match up with the engine bay color. cuz i have the red samco hoses. I guess it's part of the engine dress-up thing.

yeah...it makes your hood flex when it opens and sounds like a small explosion at high boost. it also eventually works its way through your hood insulation.
