Sounds like your BOV is too loose and its leaking at idle. Adding washers should help. My greddy BOV vta's and i have no idling problems because it is tight enough to not leak.

    AP and BOV

My only mod is an AP, but i am considering getting a blow off valve. Has anyone had any problems with engine performance/ low idle / stalling with the two?

are you running higher boost levels? Considerably higher?

No, take the BOV throw it in the trash and put your stocker back on.

    5 minute solution.

Why would the stock be one of the worst? Because it just doesn't cut it as a noise mod? The stock bpv's are good for some pretty high-boost applications.

you do know that the BOV just makes a PSSSSSHHHHH sound and may cause you idle go to crap. depends on which BOV.

fourstardrift has been running a HKS SSVQ on Cobb stg2 w/o any problems.

for the cost of the BOV's i'd suggest a DP to get you into Stg2.

im running a GFB hybrid on AP stage 1, no problems that i can tell. Holds boost well still, no idle problems, but this one recirculates as well as vents. its not as loud as id like it to be, but it can definently be heard when you wind it up to 5 or 6k

I wanna try it on 100% atmosphere and see if i have any problems, but its such a pain to switch

Gonna slap a Forge BOV on my Cobb stg 2 probably tomorrow. Getting it free from a friend to use for now, so I figured "what the hell". If it hinders performance, or just annoys me too much, I'll take it off.

I'll give my impressions once I get it on.

FWIW, the guy giving it to me has a WORX dual-stage BOV on his simliar Cobb Stg 2 setup and has no problems. He vents 100% atmosphere.

Well before the bad guys get you. If you use the search function at the top right. TRUST ME you will find TONS of this same exact question.

    Welcome to the club btw.

As far as I am aware. You only need a BOV if your looking for the sound. It does not have any kind of performance gain, just sound.

As for your TT question. I can't really help there.

Both a blow off valve and a turbo timer are completely useless mods. If the BOV is 100% atmospheric, it can hurt performance.

The turbo timer is completely unnecessary, and you should only get one if want a digital boost gauge, or if you want the novelty of having your car cntinue to run after you get out of it.

Save the money and buy a better mod (downpipe).

if you really like the intake sound search on removing the silencer in the fender. i bought a K&N short ram no probs.

if you like the noise get the bov but it may or may not hurt your car.

You don't need an uppipe in an STi. Yours is catless. There are ways to pass smog catless,a dnthere are ways to avoid CELs. Seacrh for them.
