i had the lightest spring and no shims on my stage 4 wrx and it would hold 21.5 psi (at 5000' ASL so 18 or so at sea level). the forge vents very fast, i loved it.

This bov works very nice, but my only problem is it doesn't vent unless I'm at full boost (18.5psi). But the weird thing is the car runs perfectly fine no compressor surge or anything (using blue spring). Is there anybody with upgraded turbos using the yellow spring?

like i said i had the lightest spring, not sure what color, and it worked perfectly.
    i had a vf-30

i could get it to vent at 0 psi or even in vaccum sometimes.

    anyone else?

I was running the lightest spring with my vf30 but changed it to a stiffer one because it would blow off too much imo.

Put one on my car..... took it off right away. even with cats on it still backfired. though the sound only. Idle went to Sh1+. My friends all want the sound so they got the rfl. They all suffered rough idle and shifting was jerky. But they said the sound was awesome. In my opinion.. i'd spend my money elsewhere on something that makes power. Not a whistle

I would highly recommend the Turbosmart BOV. There are several that you can get. I have the full atmospheric as well as a 60/40 recirc. Currently I am using the 60/40 split. If anyone is interested in any Turbosmart products call James Fournier of JRP, he is the dealer for the US. He will be able to take care of you all. JRP's number is 443-557-0086, which is the number for the US office.

First of all Forge dump valves are the best. Period, end of report. I use the 100% atmospheric with the blue spring (middle strength) in my Stage 4 VF 34 2002 WRX. I use a UTEC and set boost for a conservative 1.2 bar. Dual spring design and quailty workmanship=good product. I clean and regrease the valve every 5,000 miles for Subie points.

i don't suppose there's any way to prevent backfiring with an ATM BOV and a fully catless exhaust?
Not really. I guess just dont shift quick or get into the upper RPM range and let off the throttle quick either.
