Spend the extra money to buy from a reliable vendor. Customer support is more important than saving a few dollars.

I was running an APS 50/50 for awhile and I couldn't ever hear it when I let off the gas. I've used an APS 50/50, Blitz, and now an HKS...out of the three, the HKS has had the best balance of sound and performance (perfomance as in not bogging and releasing when it's supposed to), whereas the Blitz was the worst out of all of them.

    Forge atmospheric BOV Question

I just got my BOV from Forge about 20 min ago.
Does it come with a spring installed or do I need to install one of the supplied springs? If so which one?

    BTW: I'm running 17.5 PSI

Also I see an alluminum cap that I assume goes into the recirulating part of the return hose am I correct?
    Now: 04 WRB STi (stock)

what about the 50/50 set to 100% atmosphere? or would that be a bogging engine waiting to happen? I just love that sound and would just do the perrin short ram to hear the stock bypass valve, as it would be around the same price, but everyone has told me, STUPID, don't buy an intake , so I'm not

50/50 set to 100% atmosphere would make it 100/0...just like most other aftermarket BOVs...you will get some bogging, but it'll depend on the BOV of course. My old Blitz bogged a lot more than my HKS, and it also didn't open all the time either, which is very bad for the turbo obviously.

alright then, stock BPV it is, so a short ram really would mess me up bad too? The only reason I am not doing the snorkusectomy is because in most instances I have heard that after you do it you don't get full boost. And if a shrt ram will make it bog like a BOV and the snorkusectomy makes me not hit full boost, I am out of ideas. I give up

by the way I was just looking at your site, how hard was it to do the gauges in indiglo? I know when I did them on my truck the gas gauge was never right and the speedo wasn't either after I did em.

You should call the manufacturer and ask them which of the springs is right for you based on your mods....this is a time for being upfront an honest about mods, (no exaggerating, lol) so that they can tell you exactly which spring to use....every bov has different color springs and settings, so i can't make a judgment on it.....best bet, call them.....they know, they made it.

I've never heard of a short ram causing you to have less boost. A short ram will work fine provided you get one that doesn't throw a CEL (like the AEM and Injen)...there's just better things to spend your money on.

My indiglos suck. My needs are accurate but they're kinda sticky. I won't ever get indiglo gauges again.

like would a perrin short ram be okay, better thn putting on a BOV that makes my car bog, or removing the silencer which makes car not hit full boost? (there is an entire thread about it at scoobymods.com, the snorkus removal and not hitting full boost I mean)

are any of the short rams carb legal, or not?

I don't know about CARB legality, but the Perrin short ram will work just fine. I've never heard of the snorkel removal preventing full boost either...I did it for awhile and it didn't lose any power.
