Which has better quality? Blitz or RFL?
Im trying to decide between those two.

I bought the gfb and put it on 50/50. I have a 4eat WRX. I cant even hear this thing at all. Ill floor it and the auto will shift on its own and no sound whatsoever. Only way i get sound is if i put it in neutral or park and rev then i can hear it vent. Car runs great and turbo actually spools faster since the install. But i want the noise damnit. Im thinking 100%. Any suggestions?
Doesn't look like anybody paid attention to this one, but since you're automatic and keep your foot to the floor during shifts, you will never hear the BOV. As far as I can remember from DSM's, the BOV opens when the air in the intake goes from boost to vacuum....which only happens when you take your foot off the gas and close the throttle plate. That's what BOV's were meant for....when closing the throttle plate, the boost has somewhere to vent instead of backing up and trying to spin the turbo in the other direction. That's why you only hear it when you're in park or neutral and revving.

I think they are both good quality.Originally posted by imprezawrx2002

Twisty Monster - 335 ft/lb of torque @ 3600 rpm on a stock turbo. Is that possible? Yes it is.
Mine runs 100%. The only problem I found was that for a while it idled funny and while shifting it seemed to spike up the RPM's. Also noticed that the BOV was a lot quieter.Originally posted by Hipswnger2
So back on topic...
I guess the word is that 100% atm on the GFB is not really a good thing? It is loud, but causes problems?
I took a few drops of oil and spread it on that shaft/valve/hammer (I dunno what to call it) insided the valve and now everything went back to normal. Problem was that after a couple of engine wash that part had no lubrication and seem to get stuck easily. After oiling it, seems fine.
Is not that loud. most of the time I'll get on the car to make it louder, to test, and some people on the sidewalk won't even look ...is loud enough for me to hear it in the car everytime. and sometimes people will notice Is not that loud but certainly noticiable. I'm trying to get a stock one to test. which reminds me I got a Paypal transaction pending ...oops...

i just listened to the greddy type-s. It sounds like someone scratching their fingernails across a chalkboard. I prefer the quieter HKS valve. i think the RFL is loud, but it is not a sudden WHOOSH its more of an increasingly loud one
recently installed my GFB hybrid BOV, backed out the screw completely just until i didnt feel any resistance just like the instructions said then tightened the other thumbscrew so it wouldnt move around....great sound from it not too loud and loud enough to get peoples attention which is what i want but i cant hit peak boost, it spikes to about 19psi according to my gauge then it settles around 10 or 11psi and it doesnt pull like it used to. no leaks i checked everything over...any ideas? do i need to adjust my BOV and if so how do i go about doing that?
If you have a chance to listen to a forge it is a nice pshhhh. Not too loud, not too sharp.

Yeah, Forge is the happy medium between the RFL and the HKS.Originally posted by WRC_Obsessed

im curious how there would be any sound at all if the fart was silent?
yep. Just plug the return hose, connect the vac line and bolt on to the intercooler.
hey this is most likely a repost but yeah i didnt see it so... i just wanna know if people know the blow off valves that have more of a whistle sound than a "pshhhhhhhhhhh" sound.
i already know:
hks
greddy type s
any others? and which one is the loudest?!?!?!?
people ive asked seem to think its the hks.
you'll have my license plate memorized by the time were done racing =)
i'm gonna go with the GFB hybrid, how loud is it, can you hear it compared to stock?
FP Green STi
You can definitly hear it, but it's nothing compared to the RFL, with the GFB you can make people turn heads about 20 feet in front of you, if you're full throttle. With the RFL on partial throttle i can make people in cabrio's look while doing over 100 mph... just as an example... GFB is pretty quiet.Originally posted by VSGTS14

the problem with the RFL, from me experience, is that it blows off loudly ALL the time, even when very light on the throttle. tends to get annoying. I used to have the Forge, and never had this problem, only pops off under boost. i really liked that BOV.
