    hks bov ???

i have a couple of questions for you becuase i did at one point own this bov also.
1 did you buy it new if not then it may have been sold broken.
2 does it have a purple insert in the venting side(left hand side of bov in your pics) if it does it will cause a very subdued bov sound.
lastly you do not remove the screw(right side in pics) because if it was bought new it comes from hks already adjusted for the wrx
    on a wrx high

BOV's are going to run anywhere from around $180-240.

I used to have a 100% Atomspheric BOV, the TurboXS RFL, and although I didn't really mind the sound, it went off ALL THE TIME...like...lift off throttle at 2200rpms, and it would go off.

Also, the 100% atmospheric BOV doesn't recirculate, meaning no air back through the intake. You'll run rich and get worse gas mileage.

If I were ever to pick up another one, I'd go with one that recirculated -- something around a 50/50 set up.

getting that sound all the time is the reason i keep telling my friends why i don't want one right now... cause i'll hear it all the damn time and it'll get so annoying...

Put the screw back in first. Then after that while the car idles, pull the throtle to see what kind of sound it makes. If your car keeps stalling out, its too loose. Tighten it a tad bit more then. I have this same BOV and LOVE it(even though its just a noise maker ).
You wouldn't understand if you stood under it.....
