Well I blow fire too....So I wont lose any power and I might even gain some by putting my stock bov back on and taking my rfl off. I will miss the sound but if its better than I will...

    BOV

This is the new Hybrid GFB BOV, it has an adjustable Spring preload for making the BOV blow when you want it to. It is currently running 100% atmospher so its kinda loud, not like the HKS loud. Now if I would just stop throttling the car to blow off I would get my gas milage back!!

I know what you mean! I have the same one and I do it too. Mine i set to 50/50 though...

Not true. For some reason, you get a nice little sound between 2000 and 3000, then for some reason you get NOTHING from 3k-4k, over that its a loud noise. It's nice.

Um, I think your BOV is broken. I've got the 2002 WRX Hybrid, and I don't hear a peep until after 5000 rpms.

Why would that make mine broken? Maybe you just have a stiffer spring.

    Stock BOV

OK, I searched and couldn't find anything on the subject, so here goes:

If you wanted your blow off to be louder, why not just unhook the stock BOV from the recirculate hose, plug it, and let the stock one vent to atmosphere? I'm sure someone has tried this. Is it just as quiet this way?

I tried it (as have many others) and it just doesn't work very well. My car ran terrible and I got a CEL.

Thanks. I'll mark that off my cheap mod possibility list. Think I'll leave the stock one on for now. Can't see paying $200 for a non-performance item. I'll just have my wife blow in my ear when I shift or something.

    HKS SSQ

I am running the HKS SSQ right now as the first mod to my car. Before I installed it, it seemed like I was getting gas mileage like my old honda which was pretty good. After I put it on, I started running a little rich...Gas mileage isnt as high anymore but other than that I noticed no studder(sp.) in performance and have never backfired. So It seems to me that you just loose your gas mileage when you do 100% atmosphere vent. My friend has the turbo xs 100% and it did the same thing...lowers the gas mileage but other than that it sounds great. It all depends on what you want. If its just sound...try doing the intake mod...Make your stock bov a bit loader plus your car will still get good mileage...Its all up to you. Have a nice day!
