    1) Underneath the intercooler,a brass, quarter-sized fitting, with a hex shape sunken head.... EXTREMELY difficult to get to - not recommended

    2) an oil filter adapter plate - I've used 2 of them, Glow**** doesn't fit at all, greddy started leaking in under a month - not recommended.

    3) The original oil sending unit, located right behind the alternator, slightly to the passenger side. Remove it and install the OP gauge. You will need to contact Autometer and get the adapter # (I forgot the #)... it's about $15.00, and any auto parts store can have it to you in 2 days.

NOTE: I did not get a CEL when I removed the original OP sender, but I'm also using a cobb accessport... I don't know if you will if you're not using an EM

Regardless, option 3 is your best, safest bet.
can you send a picture to were the op sender is?

    We did it.......

After MONTHS of searching (even before we left STL).... we FINALLY found a dealership that would give us a fair deal.

Come to find out, it's even better than fair. These guys bent over BACKWARDS to get us into our new ride, and out of the Mazda3. The salesman (Mike Lopez), the Sales Manager, and especially the Finance guys.... all jumped through hoops at Mark Miller Subaru, SLC, UT.

The brand new addition to our family:

    2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca, 7-passenger LIMITED, 19K miles

Retail: $32,655 (with accurate options), accoring to KBB today
Out the door (after $1500 upside down trade in) = $24K

Crystal Grey Metallic (same as the WRX)
    Black leather interior
    3rd row seat
    6 CD changer w/ premium 8-speaker sound
    Dual climate control
    power moonroof

No Nav or DVD...... but not too bad for an Air Force SSgt and his teacher wife.

I think my Subaphelia has reached new heights

Been awhile since I posted here, thought I'd provide an update, even though I don't have any new pics.

1.) Early June, 2008 - drove from SLC to STL (1300 miles) to pick up my daughter for the summer

**** Thrashed a wheel, took a chunk out of the tire, suffered S E V E R E tumbleweed damage to the nose and fenders - literally, driving 70mph against 60mph winds... got bombarded with HUNDREDS of tumbleweeds. Hundreds, if not thousands of paint chips and nicks.

2.) Driving back - Stopped for the night in Kansas City to take my daughter to Worlds of Fun.

**** Hail damage... yea.. no bs... cracked a windshield too.

Believe it or not, this has a happy ending. I claimed it on my insurance. Had to make 2 claims because it happened on 2 different days. $100 deductibles each.

I "assumed" I'd get a quickie PDR dent repair, new paint on the nose, and maybe a windshield "repair".

    Ready for the list??????

    1) New Windshield
    2) New Hood + paint
    3) New nose + paint
    4) New FACTORY 07 STI Ltd. lip (not aftermarket)
    5) New Headlights
    6) New side mirrors
    7) New trunk emblems
    8) Repair + paint on the roof
    9) Repair + paint on the trunk
    10) Repair + paint on the front fenders
    11) PDR on 5 different door dings

    Total cost: Nearly $7000.00
    My cost: $200.00

All I have to say is..... USAA insurance company RULES!

Half my car is brand friggin new. It is absolutely straight as an arrow, and the paint looks better than it did when it was new. I can honestly say, my car doesn't have one single rock chip, scratch, ding..... NOTHING.

    I'm so stoked

The wheel/tire is not covered because it is considered "collision" ($500 deductible), but it's still driveable.... working on finding a repair place soon. Still, no reason to complain.
